Let's find some beautiful place to get lost
Charina started her creative path in Architecture in Aberdeen. Under Robin Webster's direction as Head of School the school was led with Modernist discipline; order, simplicity, and elimination of unnecessary detail. The principles Charina learned studying Architecture are instilled in her Art and Design work – observations of space and perspective, light and contrast, form and pattern.
After qualifying as an Architect Charina started painting, finding calm in empty or isolated locations. With a love instilled since childhood Charina’s greatest source of inspiration is her homeland, beautiful Scotland.
Charina’s paintings are often in muted palettes of white, grey and blue capturing subtle tones of the contours, skies, and seascapes with the hope of bringing some stillness to the viewer.
“Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is life, fight for it.”
